The Northern Gannet

The Northern Gannet

The Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus) is one of the most beautiful and elegant seabirds of the North Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean.

Most of the year they spend at sea, far from the shore, and during the breeding season, they usually nest on steep and remote cliffs by the ocean.

One of the few places where they can be observed up close and personal, is on the tiny German island of Helgoland in the North Sea.
